The Resort is located at few kilometers from Locorotondo, Locus-rutundi in Latin, a village that, as the name suggests, was built in a circular shape on the top of hill at about 400 meters on the sea level. The town lives an atmosphere of other times based on a strong sense of community and respect for the common spaces that are always embellished with flowers. The walls following the tiny streets in the old town are bright withe; walking along the alleys you can breathe the whiteness and the scent of the stone polished of bleach. This village is a treasure trove of art revealed in the architecture of the typical stone houses with the typical pointed roof, named cummerse and in the small churches scattered here and there. Of those the Church of Saint Nicola is undoubtedly the most representative jewel.
Descending from the town out in the countryside of the Valle d'Itria, towards Martina Franca, the rows of vineyards are the first encounter. The air, filled with the scent of cut grass, invites to fully enjoy the nature by a simple walking and getting lost in the many dirty tracks to discover fascinating colors and landscapes. There are many paths that we could recommend to walk or bicycle: in the vicinity of the Resort, contrada (district) Marziolla offers a circular loop that takes to the oldest trullo in Valle d'Itria built in 1559. Via dell'Acquedotto is the ciclying route that runs above one of the longest aqueduct in Italy, built to bring water to this thirsty region in the early 1900. A scenary track that runs over the Pirro canal overlooking the esplanade that descends towards Fasano and the sea.
